How to Choose a Type of Bunk Bed

Types Of Bunk Beds.
Bunk beds come in all shapes and sizes and not just for children and available on full bed, last time we focused on kids bunk beds but this time we are looking at the types of bunk beds available for the whole market. The unbelievably large choice of types of bunk beds you can find make choosing the right one something of an ordeal, you need the details of each type to make that choice a good one. There is a large selection of sleeping arrangements available suitable for any number of sharers in almost any age combination you could care to think of, not all of them can be covered in this article.

Single Over Single.
The original, two twin beds stacked on top of each other, used for years in the military and dorm rooms throughout the world, a versatile space saving way to sleep 2 people, taking things a bit further is the triple bunk bed, in which the same design is extended to three bunks on top of each other saving even more space.

Twin Over Full.
A useful combination if trying to accommodate a family in one room, a full bed for parents with child over, the addition of a crib or pull out bed to accommodate a further child. Popular with hoteliers and families looking to rent rooms these beds make it possible to sleep the whole family in a single bedroom!

Full Over Full.
Designed exactly like the twin over twin this is 2 double beds on top of each other. Unfortunately although they have their place the full over full bed of bunk bed does not offer the wide range of sleeping combinations that some others do, good for parents with kids that can share but alas not so good to be sleeping adults, most couples I know are not so eager to sleep with another couple in the bunk above.

Double Over Single.
The full bed sits above the twin bed with extra space underneath often used to house a desk or dresser, exceptional use of floor space with a large sleeping capacity.

Loft Beds.
These are beds which are high up, but supported in such a way as the space underneath can be used for other purposes. The space underneath can be used for just about anything, mostly for desks and stuff but can also house wardrobes and other furniture.

Captains Bed.
These are platform beds supported by furniture like drawers and wardrobes, no space under, just furniture.
Your choice of types of bunk beds is not limited to those discussed here, there are many more types available no matter what your needs are, your needs will be the driving force in choosing which kind you require, rest assured though that bunk beds rarely fail to deliver to your requirements. Enjoy your search and eventual purchase.
